DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Salvation Army is kicking off their Red Kettle season with a special event Wednesday night at Bayfront Festival Park.
The free Red Kettle Karnival is from 5 to 8 p-m at Bentleyville.
A variety of family activities from the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Red Cross, Duluth Children’s Museum and many more will be featured.
Those bringing a non perishable food item or a new unwrapped toy for the Salvation Army can go inside the newly renovated 128 foot tree.
Parking for the event is also free.
Bentleyville will also be lighting the tree in green to honor veterans through November 11th.
As part of “Operation Green Light” the City of Duluth will also light the Aerial Lift Bridge and Enger Tower in green this week.
Green is considered to be the color of hope, renewal and well-being.
