DULUTH, MN (Northern News Now) – A man has died after his car went off West Skyline Parkway early Saturday morning.
It happened around 1:15 a.m. above Oneota Cemetery in the Cody neighborhood.
According to Duluth Police, officers responded to reports of a car that went off the road.
They arrived to find a car that had gone 30 feet off the road, upside down and on fire.
Officers used extinguishers to put out the fire.
The lone man inside the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speed is believed to be a major factor in the crash and the driver’s inability to navigate the curve.
The State Patrol helped DPD with the investigation.
Authorities have identified the victim as 19 year old Tyriq Gordon of Duluth.
