RICE LAKE, MN (KDAL) – A fire Saturday at a residence in the 4200 block of the Schultz Road in Rice Lake left the homeowner with possible smoke inhalation and burns to his hands.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says crews from Rice Lake, Canosia, Lakewood and Minnesota Air National Guard Fire Departments responded to the blaze that was reported at 6:42 p-m on Saturday.
The structure was fully involved in fire when first responders arrived and a missing dog was later found dead in the structure.
The homeowner is being assisted by the Red Cross and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the state Fire Marshal’s Office.
