DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills has prompted the National Weather Service Office in Duluth to issue Extreme Cold Warnings on Monday and Tuesday for northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
The warning is in effect until noon Monday and then again from midnight to 10 a-m on Tuesday.
The high temp on Monday will be around 1 below zero in Duluth and then drop to 26 below zero by Tuesday morning.
Wind chill factors will be around 45 below through the period.
Frostbite on exposed skin could occur in as little as ten minutes. Those needing to go outside should dress in layers and wear a hat, face mask and gloves.
High temperatures in the single digits above zero on Tuesday and Wednesday will moderate to around 20 on Thursday and Friday.
The normal high for this time of year is 25.
