DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A resolution that calls on the City Administration to do a six month evaluation of the downtown Duluth skywalk system passed the City Council on Monday night.
First opened in the 1970’s and expanded several times, the system has seen a decrease in use over recent years and pedestrian safety has become an issue.
The evaluation will look at various options including closing parts of the system, reducing open hours and increasing security.
Public input will also be considered in the comprehensive look at the skywalk system.
Any changes proposed by the Administration’s evaluation would then be presented to the Council for a vote.
