DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The UMD Labovitz School of Business and Economics recently completed an economic impact analysis of the Duluth International Airport.
The study showed that business activity at the airport supports over 4 thousand full time jobs and contributes over 284 million dollars in labor income and 1.4 billion dollars in output to the state’s economy.
As Minnesota’s second busiest commercial airport, Duluth International plays a critical role in supporting regional aviation activity with joint civil and military operations.
In the coming years 150 million dollars in capital improvement projects are planned. They include replacing the aging air traffic control tower, building new hangars and reconstructing the primary parallel taxiway.
Funding will come from state, federal and private investments.
