DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Duluth Police, the U-S Marshal’s Office and the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department have completed an operation in Duluth to investigate non-complaint predatory offenders.
There are currently 338 predatory offenders in Duluth and 104 were contacted during the operation.
Of those contacted, 47 were found to be non-compliant and 14 were arrested. During the operation, that was conducted from February 3rd to March 21st, a ghost AR-15 weapon was seized from an offender that had a history of violence toward law enforcement.
Duluth Police Chief Mike Ceynowa says the collaboration between the various law enforcement agencies was crucial in getting the predatory offenders into compliance.
Predatory offenders are required to register and follow a list of rules identified in Minnesota law. If they don’t, they are considered non-compliant registrants.
