DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – After crews took a break overnight, Duluth plowing operations resumed at 2 a-m Thursday to clean snow and ice from city roadways.
Over six inches of heavy, wet snow was recorded on Wednesday in Duluth and caused very slippery conditions as it compacted on streets and sidewalks.
Plows are sanding, salting and clearing Priority 1 roadways first and then move on to Priority 2 residential streets and Priority 3 alleyways.
Residents are reminded that shoveling this heavy, wet snow is challenging and if you see neighbors struggling, lend a hand if possible.
High temperatures are expected to reach the low 40’s on Thursday which should help to melt some of the accumulated snow.
