SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – The Bong Veterans Historical Center is holding a ribbon cutting on Tuesday to unveil their newly completed solar array.
The 20 kilowatt ground mounted array is located on the east side of the property near Barker’s Island in Superior and completes the first phase of a project that will eventually provide up to 80 percent of the center’s electricity needs.
A grant covered funding for about half of the array and construction began last November. After some unexpected delays with the discovery of buried concrete, the system went live at the end of January.
The ribbon cutting is set for 11 a-m Tuesday and is open to the public featuring local officials and partners who supported the project.
