WASHINGTON, D.C. (CBS-3) – Millions of dollars in federal funding is on its way to three Northland airports.
According to Representative Pete Stauber’s office, more than $4 million in total grant money has been awarded to Minnesota airports to help pay for costs related to operations, personnel, cleaning, and sanitization.
The Duluth International Airport is expected to receive nearly $1.6 million.
Bemidji Regional Airport, Falls International-Einarson Field, and Range Regional will also receive more than $1 million each.
These funds have been made available through the Coronavirus Relief and Response Supplemental (CRRSA) Act.
Stauber says the “funding will help maintain a clean and safe environment for airport employees and travelers, helping to spur continued economic recovery.”
Stauber, who represents Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District, is a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Aviation.
