SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – The Center Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse (CASDA) is kicking off Sexual Assault Awareness Month with two virtual events on Thursday.
From noon to 1 p-m a conversation featuring a guest speaker is being hosted by UW-Superior, followed at 3 p-m with a proclamation from Superior Mayor Jim Paine and Douglas County Board Chair Mark Liebaert.
Both events on Zoom can be accessed through a link on the casda.org website or their Facebook site.
Several other Zoom events will be held throughout the month.
April is also Child Abuse Prevention Month.
CASDA’s Children’s Program Coordinator, Sherry Boock says over a thousand reports of suspected child abuse and neglect were reported to the Douglas County Department of Health and Human Services in 2020.
