BEATTY TOWNSHIP, MN (KDAL) – A 42 year old Duluth man, found hanging onto an overturned canoe Thursday afternoon, was rescued and airlifted to a hospital.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, the reporting party found the man on Elbow Lake near Cook and was able to take him to shore to meet up with a waiting ambulance.
The man, identified as Kyle Westrick, was taken to the Cook Hospital and later transported by air medical services to Duluth where he is being treated for hypothermia.
