LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, MN (KDAL) – The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Itasca County involving an ambulance and a dump truck.
The accident was reported at 10:21 a-m on Tuesday at the intersection of County Roads 336 and 57 in Lawrence Township.
The ambulance was southbound when it was t-boned by the eastbound dump truck at the intersection.
The crash left the driver of the dump truck, a 67 year old man from Nashwauk, with life threatening injuries. He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.
The ambulance driver, a 28 year old woman from Cohasset was hospitalized in Grand Rapids with life threatening injuries.
Two passengers in the ambulance were killed in the crash. The State Patrol has identified the victims as 51 year old Troy Boettcher of Warba and 17 year old Joseph Latimer of Grand Rapids.
