DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Duluth Fire Department responded to fires on the 900 block of West 5th Street and the 600 block of East 7th Street on Monday.
The first, just after midnight on West 5th Street, involved a fire in an attached garage beneath the house.
Damage was estimated at 20 thousand dollars and was limited to the garage area.
The cause of that fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshal.
The second fire at 2 p-m involved a duplex on East 7th Street where smoke was seen coming from the 2nd floor unit.
Damages were estimated at 35 thousand dollars to the 2nd floor unit and additional smoke damage in the 1st floor unit.
There were no injuries but both families in the duplex were displaced.
The Duluth Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
It was the 95th structure fire of 2021 in Duluth.
