DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A Duluth man was taken into custody Friday night after a seven hour stand-off at a Central Avenue apartment building.
30 year old Cody Lee Walker Nelson barricaded himself in the apartment after a pursuit involving Duluth and Superior Police for vehicle theft and an attempted bank robbery.
Nelson also fired several shots during the stand-off that began around 1:30 p-m and ended with his surrender at 8:30.
The chase included a wrong way pursuit on the Bong Bridge as the suspect headed toward Superior in the Duluth bound lanes.
Nelson also pointed a gun at a teller in an attempted robbery of the Associated Bank drive-thru in Superior.
Nelson is in the St. Louis County Jail facing vehicle theft, attempted bank robbery, fleeing officers and firearms charges among others.
