DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The residents who were asked to set thermostats at 62 degrees to conserve natural gas can now crank up the heat.
On Friday, the City of Duluth made the request of those gas customers east of Lake Avenue because of damage to a gas main on Thursday.
City crews and contractors were able to repair the main pipeline on Sunday and the thermostat dial down request was lifted.
Mayor Emily Larson thanked all who were impacted by the break for their patience and understanding and city staff for their hard work in making repairs safely while maintaining service without a full gas shutoff.
