ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) – The northern Minnesota deadline for getting ice fishing shelters off the lakes is next Monday, March 21st.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says the slush in some areas means ice conditions could become challenging and anglers should plan ahead to ensure they can meet the deadline.
The deadline for the Minnesota-Canadian border waters is March 31st.
Besides shelters, anglers are also responsible for removing any trash from the area.
Anything left on the ice will end up in the water, and conservation officers will not hesitate to issue citations for littering.
