DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The release of the 2021 City of Duluth Housing Report shows the demand for new housing at various income levels is high.
Among the highlights of the report are big increases in rents and prices for single family homes.
Average rents increased by 221 dollars per unit and the median sale price of homes increased by 17 percent over the year.
There were 291 new multi-family rental units added last year and 50 new single family homes in 2021.
The rental vacancy rate was down from 5.2 percent in 2020 to 2.1 percent in 2021.
