DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The former General Mills Elevator A in Duluth has been acquired by the Hansen-Mueller Company.
Inactive since 2015, the grain handling facility will go back into active service once the purchase has been finalized.
Elevator A, on the northern end of Rice’s Point, will be the second Hansen-Mueller owned grain complex in the Twin Ports joining Elevator M in Superior.
With a 3.5 million bushel storage capacity, Elevator A was built in 1908 and modernized in the 1970’s and includes an 1800 foot dock with BNSF rail service.
The re-activation of the facility is expected to add at least eight new jobs to the working waterfront and increase grain tonnage through the Twin Ports.
