DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – At the annual League of Minnesota Cities Conference, Duluth was selected as the winner of the Sustainable City Award for 2022.
The award is given each year to a state city that is working to achieve sustainability goals that align with practices of the Greenstep Cities program.
Duluth earlier this year has implemented a Climate Action Work Plan that outlines strategies and actions to reach a goal of carbon neutrality and net zero emissions by 2050.
Items in the work plan include a new vehicle replacement policy, forestry grants to replace trees lost to disease and other energy and infrastructure grant proposals.
