DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a phone scam that has been reported.
The person making the call identifies themselves as a member or the sheriff’s office and tries to convince the victim that they missed a court date or jury duty and that a warrant will be issued for their arrest.
The scammer says the warrant can be avoided by sending money electronically or by using gift cards.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds potential victims that they do not reconcile warrants in that fashion.
