ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has certified a new catch and release record muskie.
The fish that measured 58 and a quarter inches long was caught on Mille Lacs Lake by Eric Bakke of Princeton.
The record setting fish was caught on June 11th and was measured, photographed and released in less than a minute.
Bakke was trolling with a 12 inch muskie lure.
The previous record was a tie between two fish that measured 57.25 inches and were caught in Lake Vermilion in 2019 and 2021.
