Now, we’ll get to see how UMD responds to what had to be a frustrating loss, a game where the Bulldogs had the run of play and probably were the better team, but things like “puck possession,” “high-danger scoring chances,” “shots on goal,” and “almost goals” don’t count toward the final tally.
UMD’s coaches were understandably frustrated with the team’s uneven play through nine games, but the last two have been pretty good. The reward? Four (4) goals with a goaltender in the net and a 1-1 record.
Sometimes, the rewards don’t come easy. And it won’t come easy for UMD in this game. Top line center Dominic James is out, as are forward Luke Mylymok and defenseman Aiden Dubinsky from Friday’s lineup. There’s a pretty good chance at least two of those are not healthy scratches, if not all three.
Either way, UMD goes back to dressing seven defensemen, with Will Francis and Joey Pierce drawing in, and Luke Johnson is back in up front after a scratch Friday.
