WASHINGTON, D.C. (KDAL) – If you have not provided census information by mail or online, expect a census taker to make a visit to your home soon.
Door to door visits will continue through September 30th with some follow-ups done on the phone.
All census takers will wear valid government I-D badges with photographs and will follow public health guidelines including wearing face masks, social distancing and hand sanitizing.
Interviews will be done from outdoors without entering your home whenever possible or practical.
Workers will make up to six attempts to contact and count residents at each address. Notifications will be left on the door with instructions on how to respond online, by phone or mail.
The U-S Constitution mandates a census of the country’s population every ten years.
