ALANGO TOWNSHIP, MN (KDAL) – First responders and law enforcement were called to a structure fire on Highway 22 south of Cook early Thursday morning.
Two people in the house were able to escape the fire, one jumped from a second story window.
The 43 year old man, who jumped, was taken to a hospital with smoke inhalation and minor, non life threatening injuries.
A 57 year old female was able to evacuate the house prior to the arrival of first responders. She was not injured and was taken to a local hotel.
Damage to the residence, in the Township of Alango, was considered substantial.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department and Minnesota State Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.
