DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Minnesota Department of Health has posted the Lakewalk Beach in Duluth with a “water contact not recommended” advisory.
The Lakewalk Beach is located in the Canal Park area just below Lake Place Park.
Water testing has shown elevated E coli bacteria levels which indicates the possible presence of fecal contamination.
The beach is re-sampled daily and updated information can be found on the Lake Superior beach monitoring website MNBeaches.org
UPDATE: The water contact advisory for the Lakewalk Beach has now been removed as the latest sample shows bacteria levels have returned to the acceptable range.
