SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – Several BNSF cars derailed on Monday afternoon in the 28th Street rail yard in Superior.
Mayor Jim Paine says one of the rail cars spilled some magnesium chloride, a chemical commonly used for road de-icing.
Rail and Superior Fire Department crews contained the spill and said it does not present any danger to the public or significant risk to the surrounding environment.
The clean-up was expected to be completed on Monday night.
