DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Several area road projects are due to begin on Tuesday on I-35 in Duluth and Highway 61 north of Two Harbors.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation will start drainage structure repairs on I-35 between 5th Avenue West and 26th Avenue East.
Work will start on the northbound outside lane and shoulder with lane closures expected during weekdays.
The northbound inside lane and southbound inside and outside lanes will follow with the project wrapping up by October 22nd.
Also starting Tuesday, Highway 61 at the Stewart River north of Two Harbors will be paved with intermittent traffic stoppages for up to ten minutes.
Then, on September 11th, northbound traffic on Highway 61 will be shifted to the rehabilitated Stewart River Bridge while southbound traffic remains on the temporary bridge constructed last year.
Flaggers can be expected until work is complete at the end of September.
