DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Heavy rain over the weekend has caused some flooding and road washouts in the region.
The National Weather Service Office in Duluth recorded over 3 inches of rain on Sunday with reports of over 4 inches in Two Harbors and more than two inches common over much of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
In Duluth flooding was reported in the Target and Krenzen Auto areas with area creeks running over their banks and at least one sanitary sewer overflow at 22nd Avenue East.
St. Louis County reports that the intersection of the Maple Grove Road and Mall Drive was closed by flooding for most of the day Sunday. They also reported several road washouts.
More rain is in the forecast for Monday and Monday night before mostly sunny skies return on Tuesday.
