DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Duluth Fire Department was called to a detached garage fire at 330 North 60th Avenue East on Monday that was threatening to spread to the house.
The two stall garage was fully involved in fire when crews arrived and had spread to a nearby tree and was blistering paint on the house.
Using hose lines, firefighters sprayed water on the house and adjacent property to prevent any further spread of the fire.
The garage and its contents were a total loss with damages estimated to be between 125,000 and 150,000 dollars.
There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
The Fire Department says that during the incident, five vehicles drove over the hoses being used to fight the fire. This could put equipment, property and staff in jeopardy and motorists are urged to use an alternate route to avoid running over hoses when crews are working at emergency scenes.
