Heck of a game Friday, but once again the Bulldogs found themselves on the wrong side of the scoreboard. For the 15th time, a UMD game included one team or the other pulling its goalie for an extra attacker. Counting overtimes (which I didn’t count in yesterday’s update), UMD is now 5-10 in those games.
Right. Freaking. There.
That said, extra-attacker goals by Aaron Pionk and Luke Loheit got UMD a point in the NCHC standings, and you don’t turn down those points.
(It’s our belief, by the way, that this was the first time UMD scored a pair of extra-attacker goals late in a game since the 2009 NCAA regionals against Princeton. We all know how that turned out.)
Anyway, Game 2. Riley Bodnarchuk back in as UMD goes to seven defensemen.
Lines?
