SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – Superior Water Light and Power (SWL&P) has filed a proposal to raise electric, natural gas and water rates with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.
Under the plan, the overall increase of 5.9 percent would result in a 2.2 percent raise in electric rates, a 17.1 percent bump in natural gas rates and a 18 percent increase in water rates.
The actual amount of changes to SWL&P customer rates will be determined after the commission reviews the application and the public hearings that will be held later this year.
The adjustments, if approved, would take effect in January of 2025.
Superior Water Light and Power is a wholly owned subsidiary of Allete, headquartered in Duluth, and serves the City of Superior and adjacent areas in northwest Wisconsin.
