SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – To improve public safety and walk-ability, the Superior Police Department has launched a pedestrian safety initiative in the city.
Police will be increasing enforcement of pedestrian safety laws and posting frequent public information messages on social media explaining those laws over the coming months.
Motor vehicles need to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians, or those riding bikes, scooters and wheelchairs at crosswalks and intersections not controlled by signals or a traffic officer.
Pedestrians need to remember that vehicles have the right-of-way if you cross the road at any point other than within a marked or unmarked crosswalk.
The Superior Police Department encourages everyone to walk and drive safely
