CLOQUET, MN (KDAL) – On Monday night, several agencies in Cloquet responded to rescue a man after the truck he was driving ended up mostly submerged in the icy St. Louis River.
According to the Cloquet Area Fire District, first responders found the driver in the bed of the pickup and were able to throw him a life jacket and communicate with him.
Fire Department crews then used rescue suits and an inflatable boat to get to the man and bring him to shore.
He was evaluated by paramedics at the scene for injuries.
No word on how the vehicle ended up in the water.
The Carlton County Sheriff and Cloquet Police Departments assisted during the incident.
