DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has awarded two Stormwater Resiliency Implementation Grants to the City of Duluth for improvements to stormwater infrastructure and management.
The grants total 9.2 million dollars and will be used for upgrades to the Lincoln Park and Brewery Creek watersheds that were impacted by localized flooding in recent years.
Duluth Senior Engineer, Tom Johnson, says some of the current infrastructure to be improved dates back to the late 1800’s.
Work on storm sewers, catch basins and drainage improvements in those areas will begin sometime this summer and is anticipated to continue through the summer of 2027.
