GRAND FORKS, N.D. — I can report that Ralph Engelstad Arena once again smells like mini donuts.
Cruel and unusual punishment for someone who can’t eat cinnamon, I argue.
Anyway, UMD has three series left in the regular season, with two of them coming against the Bulldogs’ closest league rivals. First it’s here to face North Dakota, then St. Cloud State in two weeks (Miami at home in between).
This is never going to be an easy trip, and North Dakota appears a bit hardened as the season goes on and its youth gains experience. Sound familiar?
Anyway, UND has come out of its bye and gone 3-2-1 in six games, winning and drawing at St. Cloud, then splitting with Colorado College (home) and Denver (away). It has won each of its last three Saturday games in regulation, indicating the Bulldogs best be on their toes in this one.
As Bob Dylan once sang, the lines they are a-changin’.
(Editor’s note: Bob Dylan did not sing this, you moron.)
Jack Smith is the newest member of the James Gang. The Brothers Plante have been reunited. Callum Arnott and Jayson Shaugabay — evidently besties off the ice — will play together.
Adam Gajan vs TJ Semptimphelter.
