DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Grants that total nearly a million dollars will help to establish and expand community based family and youth support services in St. Louis County.
In the northern portion of the county, funding from the Department of Children, Youth and Families will allow for the implementation of three Community and Family Resource Centers and a mobile resource center to serve rural areas.
In southern St. Louis County, the Family Services Collaborative is providing funds to enhance and expand the Valley Youth Center, Lincoln Park Children and Family Collaborative and Lutheran Social Services.
The centers offer free family centered services for those caring for youth up to 21 years old. A resource navigator will help connect the families with support for food, transportation and other basic needs not covered by other county programs.
