The Los Angeles Angels added side-arming left-hander Alex Claudio to their bullpen Wednesday, signing the him to a one-year, $1.125-million deal.
Claudio, who has seven seasons of experience, had a 4.26 ERA in 20 relief appearances last season with the Milwaukee Brewers. In his first season with the Brewers in 2019, he led the major leagues in appearances with 83.
The Angels were 10th in the American League with a 4.63 ERA from their bullpen in 2020.
Claudio, 28, is 15-8 in his career with a 3.44 ERA in 311 appearances (two starts). He was in the Texas Rangers’ bullpen for the first five seasons of his career.
