DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The University of Minnesota-Duluth is celebrating the grand opening of the new Heikkila Chemistry and Advanced Materials Science (HCAMS) Building on Friday.
Tours of the facility at 1038 University Drive begin at 3 p-m with a program at 4.
The building was completed in January after 18 months of construction and features labs, classrooms, student spaces and faculty offices.
Classes will be held in the new building for the first time this fall and serves students in Chemistry, Biochemistry and Applied Material Science programs.
The 44.6 million dollar building is designed to facilitate collaboration and mentoring with shared spaces and lots of interior and exterior glass to add transparency.
