DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A feast and blessing on Wednesday will begin a project at the Gichi-Ode’ Akiing Park in Duluth to honor Anishinaabe leader Chief Buffalo.
A mural honoring the Chief’s statesmanship and sacrifices will be started by Indigenous artists who will design the mural and lead a community painting on Thursday.
The events are the result of a partnership between the City of Duluth, the Duluth Indigenous Commission, Moira Villiard Art and the Zeitgeist Community.
The feast and blessing is set for Wednesday at 6 p-m and the community painting is scheduled for 11 a-m to 2 p-m and 4 to 7 p-m on Thursday.
