DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The 2019 Blackwoods Blizzard Tour fundraiser for ALS kicks off with a reception Wednesday night at Blackwoods in Proctor.
245 snowmobile riders will be hitting the trail on Thursday morning for Lake Vermilion with an overnight stay at the Fortune Bay Resort and Casino.
The ride continues to Two Harbors on Friday and then back to Proctor on Saturday.
A celebration dinner at Cirrus Aircraft on Saturday night wraps up the activities.
Riders are hoping to raise a record-setting 1.2 million dollars for the ALS Association at this year’s event.
Among the celebrity riders are Twins legends Kent Hrbek, Terry Steinbach and Ron Gardenhire plus Jack Morris and Kirk Gibson are joining in this year.
The ride helps people with ALS in Minnesota, North and South Dakota and Superior, Wisconsin.
