DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The University of Minnesota-Duluth is hosting a climate change conference in Duluth on Tuesday and Wednesday. Events will be held at NRRI Tuesday and various spots on the UMD campus Wednesday.
The conference is titled “Our Climate Futures: Meeting the Challenge in Duluth.” The event is free and open to the public and will include 16 sessions and keynote addresses from representatives from education, government and business.
The focus of the conference is future planning and how Minnesota communities can adapt to climate change.
Following an address from Harvard’s Jesse Keenan, a member of the U-S delegation to the International Panel on Climate Change, there will be panel discussion featuring Duluth Mayor Emily Larson. That presentation will be held at 7 p-m Wednesday at the Marshall Performing Arts Center at UMD.
