ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MN (CBS-3) – Keith Musolf and current Hermantown Mayor Wayne Boucher have advanced to the special general election for the St. Louis county’s fifth district commissioner seat, which is scheduled for August 13th.
Boucher and Musolf received 30% and 28% of the vote, respectively in the primary election on Tuesday.
The special election is being held to fill the seat vacated by former Commissioner Pete Stauber after his election to Congress.
The seat represents multiple townships in the region, including Solway, Mdway, Lakewood, Gnesen, Canosia, Brevator, and Duluth, as well as the cities of Hermantown, Rice Lake and Proctor.
