UNDATED (KDAL) – Twin Ports firefighters battled three blazes on Friday and Saturday.
In Duluth, firefighters responded to an automatic alarm at the Goodwill Store at 700 Garfield Avenue on Friday afternoon. They found smoke coming from the rear of the building where pallets of assorted goods were on fire. Fire containment was assisted by an activated sprinkler head. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Late Friday night the Duluth Fire Department responded to a home at 237 West Kent Road for a bathroom ceiling fan fire. The fire had spread into an interior wall and under the eaves on the exterior. The fire was extinguished and damage was set at 20 thousand dollars. The cause was determined to be an electrical problem with the fan.
In Superior, firefighters found heavy smoke conditions at a single family residence at 2220 Tower Avenue on Saturday morning. The fire was found quickly and extinguished and damage was listed at 8 thousand dollars but the home was uninhabitable. The cause of that fire is under investigation.
There were no injuries in any of the fires.
