SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – As the numbers of coronavirus cases in South Korea is growing, the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) has decided to suspend its study abroad program in that country.
Two students were slated to participate in the program for the semester. One will return home and other had not left for South Korea yet and will remain in the U-S.
UWS Interim Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Maria Cuzzo, says they take student safety and well-being seriously and are acting out of an abundance of caution.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued recommendations to avoid all nonessential travel to South Korea.
