DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The St. Louis County Board has approved a plan to distribute about 24.5 million dollars in federal CARES Act funds.
Six million will be used for small business assistance and another 6 million for community assistance, 1.25 million for the logging industry and ten million to cover costs that the county incurred while responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A million dollars will be held in reserve for distribution later in the fall if needed.
Small businesses looking to apply for the assistance will find application information on the county’s website by next week.
Phase One begins on August 24th focusing on businesses and non profits with 25 or fewer employees. Phase Two for larger businesses will start on September 7th.
