DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth is partnering with the Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies in opening a Milk Depot for breast milk donations.
The donations of extra milk by mothers helps ensure that medically vulnerable babies who are hospitalized or at home will have access to safely pasteurized donor milk when their mother’s supply is low or unavailable.
Donations can be dropped off at St. Luke’s Pediatric Associates and must be from non-smoking households, in clean food grade containers, stored no more than a year and at least 100 ounces.
Those interested in donating need to go through a screening process which includes a phone interview and blood test.
