UNDATED (KDAL) – A virtual Indigenous Peoples Day celebration will be held in Duluth at noon Monday.
The event features a proclamation, hand drumming and several speakers. The celebration will be streamed on the City of Duluth Facebook page and is sponsored by the Duluth Indigenous Commission.
There will also be a virtual celebration for Indigenous Peoples Day at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
That event begins with a proclamation from Superior Mayor Jim Paine at 4 p-m followed by a panel discussing the history and significance of the day.
Sponsored by the UWS Division of Student Affairs, First Nation Studies, the Department of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and the City of Superior.
