SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – After two years of construction, the Bear Creek Trail in Superior is complete and will host an opening ceremony on Thursday.
This final segment completes a 2 and a quarter mile non-motorized trail that extends from the Osaugie Trail to the Wisconsin Point Road over both City of Superior and Douglas County lands.
The trail features 20 boardwalk sections, 16 timber crossings and two large bridges and passes through a diverse range of wildlife habitat with views of Allouez Bay and Bear Creek.
A ribbon cutting featuring Superior Mayor Jim Paine and the Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry Linda Cadotte will be held at 4 p-m.
