DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Minnesota Power has asked the Public Utilities Commission to consider quick action on proposed solar arrays in northern Minnesota.
Minnesota Power has three solar projects totaling 20 megawatts to further advance the company’s strategy to bring more carbon free energy to the region.
The 40 million dollar investment includes arrays at the Laskin Energy Center in Hoyt Lakes, the Sylvan Hydro Station near Brainerd and a proposed site on the Riley Road in Duluth.
Minnesota Power estimates the projects would create 36 local construction jobs and provide enough energy to power 4,000 homes.
